The Society was founded in 1993 to promote the interests of the village and its surroundings through researching the past, appraising the present and planning for the future. It has the largest membership of any organisation in the village.
Meetings are held two or three times a year in the village hall, but occasionally there’s a coach trip to other places of interest in Norfolk. The Society sometimes holds the village mardle, usually just before Christmas, and also organises the ‘hair of the dog’ walk on New Year’s morning. All these events are very sociable and well supported. The Society maintains an enlarging archive, by storing photographs, documents and recorded oral histories.
New members are always welcome, the subscription is just £1 a year.
